Lagos State University (LASU) has approved a one-week extension of the 2025/2026 academic calendar for the second semester to allow for the completion of pending academic activities and smoother coordination of administrative processes.
The approval was granted by the Vice-Chancellor on behalf of the University Senate, according to an official notice released by the institution.
Under the revised schedule, lectures, registration, and academic activities for both new and returning students will now continue until Friday, May 29, 2026, extending the semester to 13 weeks.
Second semester examinations are scheduled to commence on Monday, June 1, and end on Friday, June 26, 2026.
The university also outlined timelines for result processing and approval. Grading and uploading of results will take place between June 29 and July 10, while departmental and faculty considerations, corrections, and ICT processing of results are expected to hold from July 13 to July 17.
Collation of results and Senate consideration for approval are scheduled for July 20 to July 24.
LASU further announced that the end-of-session break will now begin on Monday, July 27, 2026, and run until Friday, October 23, 2026.
The institution added that the 2026/2027 academic session will officially commence on Monday, October 26, 2026.
Students, staff, and members of the university community have been advised to take note of the adjustments and comply with the revised academic schedule accordingly.
