Ekiti State University (EKSU) has matriculated over 9,000 students into its 91 fully accredited academic programs for the 2024/2025 academic session. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele, congratulated the matriculants for their success and advised them to shun misconducts and social vices.
The matriculation ceremony, which took place at the university’s main auditorium, was attended by dignitaries, parents, and guardians of the new students. Professor Ayodele noted that the university is set to introduce new academic programs, including Dentistry and Mechatronics Engineering, for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The Vice Chancellor emphasized the university’s zero-tolerance policy for infractions and breach of rules and regulations. He advised the new students to live up to the Matriculation oaths they took earlier, by shunning all acts of misconducts, such as membership of unregistered associations, indecent dressing, rape, examination malpractices, drug abuse and other social vices.
Professor Ayodele appreciated the Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for providing an enabling environment for quality teaching and learning. He also expressed gratitude to the Governor’s Wife, Her Excellency Dr (Mrs) Olayemi Oyebanji, for lecturing in the university pro bono.
During an orientation program, Professor Ayodele welcomed the new students, describing them as highly disciplined, obedient, and well-trained. He informed them that efforts are being made to make campus life more enjoyable, including the construction of new hostels.
