As part of its ongoing nationwide campaign to promote inclusive and equitable access to education, the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education (NCAOOSCE) has intensified its grassroots advocacy across several Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Kano State.
In Kibiya LGA, the advocacy team conducted community sensitisation visits to five key wards — Tarai, Kibiya I, Durba, Fassi, and Nariya. Traditional rulers, parents, and local residents were engaged on the critical need to enrol out-of-school children, particularly Almajiri, into structured learning programmes.
Similarly, in Dala LGA, the team carried out awareness campaigns in Gobirawa, Kofar Ruwa, Kofar Mazugal, Dala, and Bakin Ruwa wards. The activities focused on encouraging greater community participation in tackling illiteracy and supporting educational access for vulnerable children.
In Kabo LGA, stakeholders were mobilised and educated on the importance of investing in sustainable educational solutions tailored to the needs of out-of-school children.
These advocacy visits form part of NCAOOSCE’s broader mission to ensure that no child is left behind in the pursuit of quality education. By working closely with local communities, the Commission is reinforcing grassroots ownership of educational reforms and championing a future where every Nigerian child has the opportunity to learn.
