The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has officially announced the commencement of its online registration for the 2025/2026 Post-UTME screening exercise for admission into all undergraduate programmes. The registration exercise will begin on Monday, July 28 and end on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, according to a notice signed by the university’s Registrar, Mrs. V. Abosede Wickliffe.

The exercise is strictly for candidates who made UNILAG their first choice in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored 200 and above. In addition to the UTME score requirement, candidates must also have five (5) credit passes in one sitting, including English Language and Mathematics, in relevant O’Level subjects.

Importantly, only candidates who have uploaded their O’Level results on the JAMB CAPS portal on or before September 12, 2025, will be eligible for admission consideration. Additionally, applicants must be at least 16 years of age by September 30, 2025. Candidates who do not meet this age requirement are advised not to apply.

Furthermore, participation in the Post-UTME online aptitude test is mandatory for all applicants. Failure to partake in the test will lead to automatic disqualification from the admission process. Candidates must also ensure they register with their personal and active email addresses, as this will be the primary means of communication during the screening process.

Former students of UNILAG whose admissions were previously withdrawn due to poor academic performance or absence status may reapply, but only for a different programme from their former course of study. However, students who were expelled from the University are not eligible for fresh admission under any circumstance.

The total fee for the screening application is ₦5,500, comprising ₦2,000 for the application and a ₦3,500 administrative charge.

Registration Procedure:
Eligible candidates are required to log on to the university’s website at www.unilag.edu.ng and follow these steps:

  • Click on “Admissions”
  • Click on “Post-UTME Application”
  • Log in using the UTME application number as username and surname (in lowercase) as password
  • Generate and print payment advice
  • Make payment at any commercial bank or pay online
  • Return to the portal to complete the screening form
  • Print the Post-UTME Examination Pass

UNILAG has also announced that a Mock Examination will be held from Monday, August 25 to Wednesday, August 27, 2025, while the main Post-UTME online aptitude test will be conducted from Monday, September 1 to Friday, September 5, 2025.

For enquiries and complaints regarding the Post-UTME process, candidates can reach out via the official email postutme@unilag.edu.ng or contact the following support lines: 09053006772 and 08141656802.

The university strongly advises all candidates to strictly adhere to the outlined guidelines. UNILAG also reiterated its zero tolerance for drug abuse. Any admitted student who tests positive for drug use, either before or after registration, will have their admission immediately withdrawn.

This announcement underscores the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, discipline, and integrity in its admission processes.
