The Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has announced an increase in the monthly allowance paid to corps members serving in the state, raising it from ₦20,000 to ₦30,000.
The announcement was made during the official opening of the 2025 Batch B Stream I NYSC orientation at the Permanent Orientation Camp in Damare, Girei Local Government Area.
Governor Fintiri also disclosed plans to construct a new NYSC orientation camp in Adamawa, with professionals in relevant fields already engaged for the project.
Since early 2024, Adamawa State has progressively increased monthly stipends for corps members posted across its 21 local government areas. The initiative forms part of the administration’s efforts to cushion the effects of inflation and economic reforms on young graduates.
In January 2024, the governor approved a ₦10,000 monthly allowance for all serving corps members, in response to rising living costs following the removal of fuel subsidies and other economic adjustments.
Barely ten months later, in November 2024, the allowance was doubled to ₦20,000 during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2024 Batch C Stream I corps members at the Damare orientation camp.
The recent increase to ₦30,000 per month places Adamawa among the highest-paying states in the country in terms of NYSC state allowances.
Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and national development, stressing that the state’s investment in corps members is an investment in Nigeria’s future.
