Two students, Kenechukwu Azuike of St. Gregory’s College, Lagos, and Peace Adewole of Welkins International School, Ota, Ogun State, have emerged champions of the 2025 Cowbellpedia Secondary Schools Mathematics Quiz Competition, winning a combined N10 million and an all-expenses paid trip to Kenya.
Azuike won the top prize in the senior category, while Adewole emerged winner in the junior category. Each received N5 million, in addition to the international educational tour.
The annual competition, organised and sponsored by Promasidor Nigeria Limited, makers of Cowbell Milk, aims to promote STEM education, particularly mathematics, among secondary school students across the country. It was first introduced in 1998 as the Cowbell National Secondary School Mathematics Competition (NASSMAC) and later rebranded as Cowbellpedia.
Speaking at the grand finale and award presentation, Managing Director of Promasidor Nigeria, Mr Francois Gillet, praised the finalists for their passion and performance, describing mathematics as a vital life skill. He reaffirmed the company’s continued investment in STEM education nationwide.
“This competition is more than just a quiz. It is a platform to empower young minds and prepare them for a dynamic, technology driven world,” Gillet said.
Marketing Director of Promasidor, Mr Adebola Williams, said over 5,000 students aged between 11 and 17 participated in the preliminary computer based tests. The 14 week contest was narrowed down to eight finalists in each category after multiple elimination stages.

In the junior category, Haruna Salvin, Onyema Alexis and Anyaeji Arthur secured the second, third and fourth positions, also receiving N3 million, N2 million and N500,000 respectively.
