The management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has officially announced the release of its Change of Course Admission Form for the 2025/2026 academic session. The announcement provides an opportunity for candidates who have not yet secured admission to change to programmes where spaces are still available.
In a statement signed by the Registrar, Mrs. Olayinka O. Balogun, the institution explained that the window will be open for five days only—beginning on Monday, September 15, 2025, and closing on Friday, September 19, 2025. Candidates who fall under this category are strongly encouraged to seize the opportunity before the deadline.
The statement clarified that candidates seeking to switch to other programmes must meet specific requirements. These include having the correct UTME subject combination, appropriate O’ Level subject combination, and attaining the university’s set minimum programme cut-off mark. Failure to satisfy these conditions will render applications invalid.
Applicants are also required to effect the change at any accredited JAMB centre. This step, the institution emphasized, is essential because only changes recorded both on the JAMB platform and the LAUTECH portal will be processed for consideration.
To complete the process, candidates must make a non-refundable payment of ₦5,000. This payment is to be made online using an interswitch-enabled debit card via the university’s official portal at apply.lautech.edu.ng. The university urged candidates to strictly follow the official payment channel.
The Registrar further warned that no agent, individual, or group of persons has been appointed by LAUTECH to collect fees or facilitate the change of course process. Candidates were advised to be vigilant and avoid falling victim to scammers who might exploit the exercise to defraud unsuspecting applicants.
While the announcement offers relief for many applicants, the university cautioned that application for change of course does not automatically guarantee admission. Final decisions will depend on meeting the stated conditions and the availability of limited slots in each programme.

This move by LAUTECH underscores its commitment to ensuring fairness and providing alternative options to qualified candidates who narrowly missed out on admission into their initial programme of choice. It also reflects the university’s proactive stance in maximizing available admission spaces.
The development has been welcomed by many prospective students and their parents, who see it as an opportunity to still secure a place in one of Nigeria’s leading technology-driven universities. Admission seekers have been urged to act swiftly and ensure strict compliance with the guidelines.
Meanwhile, stakeholders in the education sector have advised candidates to carefully evaluate their strengths before changing programmes. They noted that the right subject combination and alignment with personal career goals are critical for long-term academic success.
LAUTECH also reminded applicants that its official portal remains the only valid platform for processing the change of course request. Any application or payment done outside the official channel will not be recognized.
With the process officially opened, all eyes are now on applicants to make their choices wisely before the window closes on September 19. The university management reiterated its best wishes to candidates while assuring them of a transparent and merit-based consideration of their applications.
