According to the Registrar, both fresh and returning students are expected to arrive on campus and move into their allocated halls of residence on the resumption date. “This is to inform all students that the university management has approved Monday, 6th October 2025, as the official date of resumption for the 2025/2026 academic session. All students are advised to take note of this date and comply accordingly,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, the Students Affairs Division has released detailed procedures for hostel accommodation, especially for returning students who had been considered for allocations ahead of the new session. The process is expected to begin with the activation of the student portal for hostel payments on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
In a statement by the Students Affairs Officer, Mr. J.O. Adeyemo, students who applied for hostel spaces are required to confirm their allocation status through the portal starting from September 24. Those allocated spaces are to strictly follow the outlined steps to secure and occupy their rooms.
The procedures include confirming hostel allocation status on the student portal, making payments for the hostel allocation, and presenting proof of payment at the Students Affairs Division. Students will also obtain the Hostel Dues account number from the division and make the necessary payments.
Furthermore, they are required to submit photocopies of both the hostel allocation receipt and hostel dues receipt to collect the Hostel Code of Conduct (HCC) booklet. The booklet contains the undertaking form, room, and bed space details, which are essential for check-in.
Students must also make two photocopies of the HCC booklet page containing their room number. One copy is to be submitted to the Hostel Accommodation Officer at the Students Affairs Division, while the other is to be presented to the Hostel Supervisor for final clearance into their allocated hostels.
According to Mr. Adeyemo, the university hostels will officially open to receive students on October 6, 2025, in line with the approved resumption date. He stressed the importance of compliance with the procedures to ensure a seamless accommodation process.
The management assured parents and guardians that all necessary arrangements have been made to provide a conducive and safe learning environment for students returning for the new academic year. Security and welfare measures, according to the administration, remain top priorities.
