The Ondo State Government has commenced a staff audit and verification exercise at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), as part of efforts to sanitise the institution’s workforce and enhance accountability.
In a circular signed by the University Registrar, Mr. Olugbenga Arajulu, the exercise is scheduled to run from Monday, October 20 to Thursday, October 23, covering all faculties, departments, and administrative units.
The audit will be conducted in four phases, beginning with academic faculties and ending with centres and support units.
On Monday, staff from the Faculties of Administration and Management, Sciences, Agriculture, Allied and Health Sciences, Arts, Education, Environmental Design and Management, Computing, and Law will be verified.
On Tuesday, the exercise will cover the University Library, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Social Sciences, the Vice Chancellor’s Office, Academic Planning, University Advancement Office, and AAUA Business School.
Wednesday’s session will focus on non-academic units, including the Registry, Bursary, Works and Services, Physical Planning and Development, Student Affairs, Institute of Education (IOE), Institute of Part-Time Programmes (IPTP), General Studies (GST), ICT Application Centre (ICTAC), Gender Studies and Development Centre, Distance Learning Centre, Central Research Laboratory, and Quality Assurance Unit.
The process will conclude on Thursday with the verification of staff from the Sports Centre, Centre for Entrepreneurship, Centre for Drug Development and Administration, Centre for Space Energy and Environmental Research, Centre for Pre-Degree Studies, and the Security Unit. Others scheduled for that day include the Internal Audit, Health Centre, Postgraduate School (PGS), Centre for Research and Development, Fire Service, Centre for Linkages and International Programmes, Teaching and Leadership Centre, University Staff School, and SIWES Unit.
The circular also outlined the documents required for the verification exercise. These include letters of appointment and confirmation, promotion and conversion/advancement letters, academic qualifications (from primary to highest), approval for change of name, BVN and NIN printouts, birth certificate, and Primary Six Leaving Certificate.
All staff have been advised to adhere strictly to the schedule and present the required documents to ensure a smooth and successful exercise.
