Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has secured its first gold medal at the ongoing 27th Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) Games in Jos, following a remarkable performance by Kenneth Zachariah, who outpaced athletes from over 15 Nigerian universities to win the 1500m men’s race.
Speaking to The Nigeria Education News immediately after his victory, Zachariah was ecstatic about his win. “I’m overwhelmed with joy,” he said, beaming with pride. “I knew I had it in me, and I’m grateful to my coaches and teammates for their support.”
Zachariah’s victory marked a proud moment for BUK, as he dominated the track with composure, endurance, and an impressive finishing kick that drew loud cheers from the spectators.
