Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has officially released the approved academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session, following its ratification by the University Senate. The calendar outlines critical timelines and directives aimed at ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated commencement of academic activities across the institution.
The development was contained in an internal circular signed by the Director of Academic Planning, Professor B. S. Jatau, and addressed to the university community for information and strict compliance. The management stressed that all faculties, departments, and relevant units must align their activities with the approved schedule.
According to the circular, the university portal will be opened for registration of both newly admitted and returning students from Sunday, January 4, 2026, and will close on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Students are advised to complete all registration processes within this period to avoid penalties or complications.
The university management emphasized that timely registration is critical to proper documentation, access to academic resources, and participation in lectures and examinations during the session. Students who fail to register within the stipulated timeframe may face academic setbacks.
In addition, the calendar highlights activities for the Third Semester (Second Batch). Revision and examinations for this category of students are scheduled to run from Monday, January 12 to Saturday, January 24, 2026, concurrently with the general registration exercise.
The Senate directed departments handling third-semester programmes to ensure effective coordination of academic activities to prevent clashes or disruptions that could affect students’ registration or examination processes. Departments are expected to put adequate administrative measures in place to manage the overlap efficiently.
Furthermore, the university announced that resumption and commencement of lectures for all categories of students including fresh, returning, and third-semester students will take place on Monday, February 2, 2026.
Management noted that this uniform resumption date is intended to promote academic stability, proper course coverage, and adherence to the semester timeline across all faculties.
The circular also called on Deans, Heads of Departments, and unit coordinators to ensure classrooms, laboratories, and other academic facilities are adequately prepared ahead of the resumption date to support effective teaching and learning.
Professor Jatau reiterated that strict compliance with the approved academic calendar is mandatory, adding that any deviation could negatively impact the academic flow of the session and the overall institutional schedule.
Students and staff have therefore been urged to take note of the outlined dates and plan accordingly, as the university positions itself for a structured and hitch-free 2025/2026 academic session at Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
