The University of Abuja has suspended its shuttle bus services linking the main campus and mini campus following the ongoing strike by non-teaching staff unions.
The development, which took effect from May 1, 2026, was announced in a transportation advisory issued to members of the university community.
According to the notice, the disruption is tied to the industrial action by the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), whose members are responsible for key operational services within the institution.
As a result, university-owned buses used by staff and students for inter-campus movement will remain out of service until further notice.
The institution has advised staff and students to make alternative arrangements by relying on private transportation operators to move between campuses.
The suspension is expected to impact daily academic and administrative activities, particularly for students and staff who depend on the shuttle system for regular commuting.
The advisory was issued by the Head of the Transportation Office, Arc. A.A. Amdii, who urged the university community to plan accordingly pending the resolution of the strike.
