African founders building innovative businesses in the creative economy can now apply for the 2026 edition of the Founders Fund Africa Creative Economy Accelerator, a $1 million programme designed to support startups with funding, mentorship and strategic business development opportunities.
The initiative is targeted at entrepreneurs developing scalable ventures across key creative sectors, including music, film and media, design, and creative technology.
Organisers said the accelerator will provide selected founders with financial support, access to experienced mentors, strategic partnerships and growth opportunities aimed at strengthening Africa’s expanding creative industry.
The programme comes at a time when governments and development partners across the continent are increasing investment in the creative economy, recognising its growing contribution to employment generation, innovation and economic diversification.
Students, graduates and young entrepreneurs with viable businesses in the creative sector are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to accelerate the growth of their ventures and connect with investors and industry experts.
Applications are currently open through the programme’s official portal and will close on August 28, 2026.
The accelerator is expected to attract founders from across Africa seeking to transform creative ideas into sustainable businesses capable of competing in regional and global markets.
