The Federal Government has released the 2026/2027 admission list for Junior Secondary School One (JSS1) into Federal Unity Colleges across the country.
The admission list, approved by the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, is available to parents and guardians through the Federal Ministry of Education’s admission portal and the notice boards of the respective colleges.
The ministry, in a statement issued on Monday by its Director of Press and Public Relations, Folasade Boriowo, said the release was part of efforts to ensure a transparent and orderly admission process.
Alausa said the development reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing an accessible admission process for children seeking placement in the Federal Unity Colleges.
Parents and guardians of successful candidates are required to check their children’s admission status, print the admission slips and proceed to the college indicated on the slip to complete the confirmation and other admission formalities.
The admission status and slips can be accessed through the Federal Ministry of Education Posting Portal at fmeposting.com.ng/auth/login.
The admission exercise followed the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE), which serves as the basis for selecting candidates for admission into JSS1 of the Federal Unity Colleges.
The National Examinations Council (NECO) conducted the examination, with 60,357 candidates registering for the 2026 exercise. Of the registered candidates, 56,950 sat for the examination, while 3,407 were absent.
The figures highlight the demand for places in the Federal Unity Colleges, which provide secondary education to students drawn from different parts of the country.
The colleges also form part of the Federal Government’s efforts to promote national integration by bringing together students from different states and backgrounds.
Admission is conducted under an approved quota system designed to balance merit with equitable representation among states and other considerations.
While congratulating successful candidates, Alausa urged them to approach their studies with diligence, discipline and commitment to excellence.
He also encouraged the newly admitted students to make the most of the opportunity and uphold the values expected of students in Federal Unity Colleges.
The ministry advised successful candidates and their parents to comply with the reporting and confirmation requirements of their respective colleges to avoid delays in completing the admission process.
