The Senate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has approved a new policy requiring graduates to collect their certificates, Notifications of Results (NOR) and academic transcripts within six months of their convocation.
The policy, announced in a public notice issued by the university management and signed by the Registrar, Mrs Olayinka O. Balogun, on June 25, 2026, is intended to regulate the period within which graduates are expected to obtain their academic documents from the institution.
According to the notice, all LAUTECH graduates are required to collect their certificates, Notifications of Results and academic transcripts within six months from the date of their convocation.
The university further stated that requests for certificate collection made after the expiration of the six-month period will attract a penalty fee of ₦100,000. The notice specifies that the charge will apply per session.
The management said the policy had been approved for immediate implementation, urging graduates to take the directive seriously and ensure that their academic documents were collected within the stipulated period.
It also advised graduates to begin the collection process promptly, noting that the penalty would take effect after the six-month period following the publication of the notice.
The development places greater responsibility on graduates to complete the collection of their academic documents within the university’s prescribed timeline. Certificates, notifications of results and transcripts are essential documents frequently required for postgraduate admissions, employment opportunities, professional registration, scholarship applications and other academic or career-related processes.
For graduates who have completed their programmes but are yet to collect their documents, the directive makes timely follow-up with the appropriate university offices particularly important.
The notice also encourages graduates seeking clarification or further information to contact the relevant university offices or visit the institution’s official website.
The directive was signed by Mrs Olayinka O. Balogun, Registrar, on behalf of the university management.
