Nigerian actor and comedian Debo Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has earned a Master of Arts degree with Distinction in Performance (Acting) from the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, United Kingdom.
The entertainer announced the achievement on Wednesday, November 4, sharing footage from his graduation ceremony and reflecting on the demands of completing the programme.
In his announcement, Adedayo described the experience as challenging but rewarding, saying it had contributed to his personal and professional development.
He also expressed gratitude to God, his family, friends and supporters who accompanied him throughout his journey as an artist.
The qualification marks another stage in Adedayo’s formal training in the performing arts, having previously studied Theatre Arts and Film Studies at Redeemer’s University in Osun State.
His undergraduate journey was not straightforward. In 2022, he disclosed that he had attended four universities before completing his degree.
He initially gained admission to study Law at Lead City University in 2009 but left during his second year following disagreements and protests over accreditation issues.
He subsequently continued his Law studies at Houdegbe North American University in Cotonou, Benin Republic, before moving to Afe Babalola University, where he decided to pursue his interest in theatre.
He eventually enrolled at Redeemer’s University in 2013, graduating with a degree in Theatre Arts and Film Studies in 2018.
Adedayo also undertook professional acting training in the United Kingdom, completing an Advanced Acting for Camera course at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA).
Beyond his academic pursuits, he has built a career across comedy, television and Nollywood. He became widely recognised through his online comedy skits, particularly his portrayal of Daddy Wa, a character that helped establish his popularity among Nigerian audiences.
His acting credits include films such as Ayinla, Aníkúlápó, Jagun Jagun, Lisabi: The Uprising and Freedom Way, reflecting his work beyond digital comedy.
The latest achievement adds to his development as a performer, coming after years of building an entertainment career while continuing to pursue formal training in his chosen field.
