The management of Jigawa State College of Education Gumel has expressed gratitude to Governor Umar Namadi for releasing over N17 million to settle outstanding payments for casual workers who were disengaged last year. In a statement issued by the college’s registrar, Malam Bala Isyaku, it was announced that the payments have already begun to be disbursed to the 203 affected casual workers after they were successfully screened by a committee set up by the college.
The registerer highlighted that the payment process is being conducted online through the United Bank for Africa (UBA) and that 14 staff members are yet to appear before the committee for screening. He urged those individuals to come forward and ensure they are included in the payment.
The statement also conveyed the College provost Professor Nura Muhammed Ringim’s appreciation to Governor Namadi for his commitment to the education sector and the welfare of workers. The College expressed its gratitude for the timely release of funds, which will undoubtedly make a significant difference in the lives of the affected staff members.
