The first phase of the Lagos State University (LASU) 10,800-bed hostel project is now ready for inauguration, marking a significant milestone in the state’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure. The project, executed through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, is set to address critical accommodation needs for students.
Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources and former Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, proudly showcased the nearly completed first phase of the project. He expressed deep appreciation for the efforts of all stakeholders involved, particularly the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, whose unwavering support was key to the project’s success.
Wahab took to social media to share his pride in the achievement, noting, “Proud of the work done here and to have been a part of this special one.”
He also commended the Lagos State Office of Public-Private Partnerships, the LASU management team led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, and other collaborators for their dedication.
The hostel project stands as a testament to the power of public-private collaboration, highlighting the state government’s drive to meet the growing demand for student accommodation while fostering long-term educational development.
“Through the grace of God and the unwavering support and dedication of all involved, the first phase of this landmark project has now been completed,” Wahab said.
