The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has warned students to be cautious of fraudulent websites and portals posing as the official platform for student loan applications.
Established under the Student Loans (Access to Higher Education) (Repeal and Re-enactment) Act of 2024, NELFUND provides financial support for qualified Nigerians pursuing higher education in approved institutions and vocational schools within the country.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, Director of Corporate Communications at NELF, emphasized that the only official portal for loan applications is http://www.nelf.gov.ng.
Students and the public were urged to ignore any links or websites claiming to offer access to the NELF Student Loan Scheme, as any site other than www.nelf.gov.ng is unauthorized.
“NELFUND remains committed to ensuring eligible students have access to financial support through a secure process. For verified updates, visit http://www.nelf.gov.ng or follow our verified social media handles,” the statement concluded.
