The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has officially announced the commencement of the April 2025 upkeep fund disbursement to eligible students across Nigeria. This was disclosed through an official statement signed by Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, Director of Strategic Communications, and shared via NELFUND’s verified social media platforms.
According to the announcement, “The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has commenced the disbursement of April 2025 upkeep payments to eligible student beneficiaries across the country.” This initiative aligns with the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda to ease the financial burden on students and increase access to higher education.
While a majority of beneficiaries have already received their funds, NELFUND admitted that a few students might experience delays. “While most payments have been successfully processed, a small number of beneficiaries may experience a delay due to the recent upgrade on our payment and application processing system,” the statement read.
The agency clarified that the temporary delay is a result of efforts to improve service delivery. “This system upgrade is expected to enhance security and support the timely disbursement of upkeep allowances in subsequent payment cycles,” NELFUND assured. The technical improvements are aimed at ensuring a more seamless and secure disbursement experience in the future.
NELFUND emphasized that it is actively working with stakeholders to address any technical setbacks. “NELFUND is working closely with relevant stakeholders to resolve these issues promptly and ensure that all eligible students receive their entitlements without further delay,” the agency stated. Students experiencing difficulties are encouraged to be patient as the resolution process continues.
Reiterating its commitment to transparency and accountability, the organization assured the public of its dedication to operational excellence. “We remain committed to transparency, operational excellence, and the timely delivery of student support in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Mrs. Oluwatuyi said in the update.
To help address individual concerns, NELFUND encouraged students to reach out for assistance. “For further inquiries or assistance, students may contact us via email at info@nelf.gov.ng or reach out through our official social media platforms,” the statement advised.
