The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna, has officially opened its admission portal for the 2025/2026 academic session. Prospective candidates seeking admission into undergraduate, National Diploma (ND), Pre-Higher National Diploma (Pre-HND), Higher National Diploma (HND), and postgraduate programmes are hereby invited to apply. According to the institution, the online application commenced on June 30, 2025, and will close on July 27, 2025.
AFIT, known for its specialized programs in aerospace engineering, military science, and other technical disciplines, has outlined the eligibility criteria for applicants. Candidates applying for degree programmes (B.Sc/B.Eng) must have scored 200 and above in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), while those applying for National Diploma (ND) programmes must have a minimum UTME score of 160.
The school emphasized that only candidates who have selected AFIT as their first choice during UTME or Direct Entry (DE) registration are eligible for the Post-UTME screening. However, candidates who initially chose other institutions but wish to switch to AFIT are advised to process their change of institution at any JAMB-accredited CBT centre on or before July 18, 2025 to meet the screening deadline.
For Direct Entry applicants, AFIT requires that candidates must have relevant qualifications such as National Diploma (ND), NCE, IJMB, or equivalent credentials that meet the admission standards outlined on the JAMB Integrated Brochure and Syllabus System (IBASS) or the school’s portal. The institution has advised all applicants to consult both sources to confirm eligibility before proceeding with registration.
All applicants, UTME, DE, ND, HND, and Pre-HND are expected to register through AFIT’s official portal at https://portal.afit.edu.ng. During registration, applicants must provide accurate personal information, upload their recent passport photograph, and enter their academic qualifications and JAMB details correctly to avoid disqualification.
The non-refundable registration fee for Post-UTME screening is ₦2,000 for candidates applying into Degree (B.Sc/B.Eng) and ND programmes. For those applying for Pre-HND and HND programmes, a ₦10,000 fee is required. Payment is to be made securely through the school’s online payment system during the application process.
AFIT strongly encourages candidates to verify all admission requirements and ensure compliance before submitting their application. Incorrect or incomplete entries may result in application rejection. Additionally, applicants must regularly check their emails and the AFIT portal for updates regarding screening dates, examination venues, or further directives.
In a statement issued by the institution’s admission unit, candidates were reminded that failure to apply within the stipulated deadline of July 27, 2025, or to complete the necessary change of institution on JAMB CAPS before July 18, 2025, would mean forfeiting their chances of participating in the admission process for the current academic cycle.
As one of Nigeria’s premier military and aviation-oriented institutions, AFIT remains committed to training highly skilled professionals for both military and civilian sectors. Admission into the institute is highly competitive, and candidates are advised to prepare thoroughly and meet all academic and technical requirements to enhance their chances.
