The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced Okeke Chinedu Christian from Anambra State as the overall top scorer in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with a total score of 375 out of 400.
The announcement was made on Tuesday during the 2025 JAMB Policy Meeting on Admissions, held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.
According to JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Okeke selected the University of Lagos (UNILAG) as his first-choice institution, with the intention of studying Mechanical Engineering.
Trailing closely behind is Ayuba Simon-Peter John from Gombe State, who scored 374 and chose Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), also to study Mechanical Engineering. In third place is Jimoh Abdulmalik Olayinka from Kwara State, who secured a score of 373 and also selected UNILAG for the same course.
The board released the list of the top ten scorers in the 2025 UTME, most of whom applied for engineering-related disciplines.
