Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) has officially released details for its 2025/2026 Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise. According to a statement signed by the Registrar, Ambrose G. Ugwu, the university is inviting candidates who selected ESUT as their first-choice institution, as well as those willing to switch to ESUT, to take part in the online screening process. The registration will commence on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, and end on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
Applicants are reminded that those who did not initially choose ESUT must first apply for a change of institution via the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) before proceeding with the ESUT registration. This change must be effected before attempting to access the screening portal. It is also emphasized that the screening exercise will be conducted entirely online, with no need for physical aptitude tests or interviews.
The university also released the approved departmental cut-off marks for various programmes. Candidates applying to competitive courses such as Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Sciences, and Law must have scored a minimum of 240 in their UTME. Pharmacy candidates must have 220, while disciplines like Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Radiography, and Computer Science require at least 200. Programmes such as Civil Engineering, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Mass Communication have cut-off marks set at 180, while all courses under Agriculture, Education, and Environmental Sciences have a baseline cut-off of 160.
Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable screening fee of ₦2,000. Payment can be made through any of the two available options: online payment using an ATM card or at any commercial bank nationwide via the eTranzact platform. After payment, candidates must return to the portal to complete the registration by submitting their academic information and uploading their O’Level results.
The registration procedure includes visiting the school’s portal at www.portal.esut.edu.ng, selecting “2025/2026 Admission Screening Registration” under “Regular Students,” entering the UTME registration number, email, and phone number, and then proceeding to generate an invoice. After payment, candidates should continue with registration, enter their details correctly, and finally print the acknowledgment slip for record-keeping.
All candidates are urged to ensure the consistency of their personal data across all documents submitted for screening. Any discrepancy in name, date of birth, or academic record may lead to disqualification. The university has also warned that candidates must upload their O’Level results to the JAMB CAPS portal, as failure to do so will automatically affect admission consideration.
Candidates awaiting the results of May/June 2025 WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB examinations are eligible to apply. However, such results must be released before September 30, 2025, to be considered valid for admission. Any result released after the deadline will not be accepted.
Direct Entry (DE) candidates are not left out. All DE applicants are required to access the portal and enter their academic qualifications. They must also ensure that their transcripts are forwarded by their previous institutions to the ESUT Registrar and a physical copy submitted to the university’s Admissions Office. In addition, they must upload relevant documents such as A-Level results and NCE/ND certificates.
ESUT’s academic offerings for the 2025/2026 session are spread across 13 faculties, including Agriculture, Allied Health Sciences, Basic Medical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Clinical Medicine, Education, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Law, Management Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Social Sciences and Humanities. Over 60 degree programmes are available for prospective students across these faculties.
Among the standout programmes are Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Science, Pharmacy, Law, Computer and Information Science, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Mass Communication, Political Science, and Food Science and Technology. These courses are offered with an emphasis on practical knowledge, global relevance, and technological advancement.
The Registrar, Ambrose G. Ugwu, emphasized that every candidate must certify that the information provided during registration is accurate. False declarations, forged documents, or manipulation of data will result in disqualification and possible prosecution. Candidates are advised to double-check their entries before submission.
In closing, ESUT has reiterated its commitment to a transparent, fair, and efficient admission process. Candidates and parents are strongly advised to rely solely on official university communications and avoid dealing with unauthorized persons or fraudulent agents. All legitimate updates will be posted on the school’s official portal.
