The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has mandated that all Nigerian public universities conclude their 2025 admission processes by October 31, 2025.
This directive, released in the board’s weekly bulletin, is part of a broader schedule approved during the 2025 Policy Meeting, which was led by the Minister of Education.
The new timeline also sets different deadlines for other institutions. Private universities are required to complete admissions by November 30, 2025. All other tertiary institutions, both public and private, have until the end of 2025 to finalize their admission processes.
According to JAMB, the decision aims to stabilize the academic calendar and guarantee fair access to admission slots across all tertiary institutions. The board emphasized that these deadlines are not flexible and must be strictly followed to prevent any disruptions to the overall admission process.
JAMB has also urged institutions to conduct and complete all post-UTME screenings without delay, well in advance of the deadlines.
The board stressed that even if an institution is not prepared to begin the new academic session, it must still complete its admissions and archive the records within the prescribed timeline. This directive ensures that all admission processes adhere to the approved schedule for the 2025 academic session.
