The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) Advancement Centre, in collaboration with the FUOYE National Alumni Electoral Committee (FNAEC), is pleased to notify all alumni of important developments concerning the forthcoming 2025 Alumni Election. This marks another milestone in strengthening the alumni family and ensuring that graduates of FUOYE continue to play an active role in shaping the university’s future.
The Advancement Centre emphasizes that every alumnus and alumna has a unique role to play in building a stronger FUOYE community. Alumni are therefore encouraged to participate fully in the electoral process, knowing that their voices and votes will help determine the leadership of the association in the years to come.
Following a comprehensive review of the security report earlier submitted, the committee wishes to inform all stakeholders that issues which previously affected the smooth running of the process have now been satisfactorily addressed and resolved. This step ensures a credible, fair, and transparent election that reflects the collective will of FUOYE graduates.
The FUOYE National Alumni Electoral Committee (FNAEC) has formally announced the commencement of the 2025 Alumni Election Campaign. The election has been scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 15th October 2025, and will be conducted under strict adherence to electoral guidelines set by the committee.
The campaign period officially runs from Monday, 25th August to Tuesday, 30th September 2025. During this window, candidates are expected to engage with alumni in ways that reflect integrity, discipline, and respect for the values of the Alumni Association. The Committee strongly advises that campaigns should be conducted in an atmosphere of unity, decorum, and mutual respect.
As part of the campaign process, each contestant is required to prepare a five-minute video presentation of their manifesto. This video presentation will give alumni an opportunity to assess the vision and mission of each candidate before casting their votes. Contestants are to forward the video to the Committee’s official WhatsApp number (08104453887) on or before 31st August 2025, for proper documentation and record purposes.
The Electoral Committee has released the list of duly qualified contestants authorized to contest in the election. These individuals have been screened, cleared, and officially recognized to commence their campaign activities in line with the approved schedule. This development guarantees that only eligible and credible candidates participate in the process.
The approved list of contestants includes: Akindipe Oluwakayode David, Akinyemi David O., Alabi Johnson Sunday, Amure Olatunji Michael, Amure Segun Emmanuel, Aro Mubarak, Babatunde Victor D., Esan Femi Williams, Ige Kehinde Abimbola, Ojo Isaac Sanmi, Ojo Taiye Adebisi, Olugbeje Promise Eniola, Oyedele Moturayo Elizabeth, Raji Sobur Kewulere, Salaudeen Teslim Ayowale, and Yusuff Idris Temitope.
In addition to the names, the committee has also published the positions being contested. These include key offices such as President, Vice President, General Secretary, Treasurer, Publicity Secretary, Financial Secretary, Social Secretary, Welfare Secretary, and Assistant positions within the Alumni Association. Each of these roles is critical in ensuring the effective administration of the Alumni body.
The Advancement Centre, led by Prof. Olubukola Oyawoye, has stressed that this election is more than just a process of filling positions; it is a collective opportunity for FUOYE graduates to define the direction of their alumni body. Participation is therefore strongly encouraged as the outcome will influence the welfare, unity, and global image of FUOYE Alumni.
Alumni are reminded that their vote is their voice. By turning out to support credible candidates and engaging in the process, they are not only electing leaders but also reinforcing the bond that unites FUOYE graduates across Nigeria and the world. Every alumnus and alumna is called upon to take ownership of this process.
In closing, the FUOYE National Alumni Electoral Committee (FNAEC), under the leadership of Ajayi Busuyi (Chairman, FNAEC), extends its gratitude to all contestants and alumni for their cooperation. The Committee assures all stakeholders that it is committed to delivering a transparent, fair, and successful election. Together, let us move FUOYE forward.
