The Federal College of Education (FCE), Ofeme, Umuahia, has announced plans to hold its maiden matriculation ceremony for its pioneer set of students on Friday, September 26, 2025.
According to a statement from the college’s Public Relations Department, the historic event will begin at 10:00 a.m. on the institution’s premises and will formally admit the first batch of students into the college.
The matriculation, which marks a major milestone in the life of the newly established federal tertiary education center, will also celebrate the dedication of staff who have worked to lay its academic and administrative foundation.
Education stakeholders, community leaders, and other invited guests are expected to attend the ceremony, which underscores the importance of expanding access to teacher education in the South-East region.
Established as part of the Federal Government’s efforts to strengthen teacher education in Nigeria, FCE Ofeme is focused on providing professional training to produce competent educators capable of meeting global teaching standards.
The institution noted that the upcoming matriculation will not only serve as a landmark for its pioneer students but also position Ofeme as an emerging hub for academic development in Abia State and beyond.
