The Katsina State Agency for Mass Education, in partnership with the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, has extended its ongoing adult education data collection exercise to Nadabo Primary School, Bakori Local Government Area.
The programme, which spans 20 local government areas, seeks to generate accurate data on adult learners, including vulnerable groups such as the deaf community and small-scale business owners. During the exercise, deaf adult learners in Bakori joined other community members in submitting their information, ensuring their inclusion in upcoming literacy and empowerment initiatives.
Officials said the data would serve as a foundation for vocational training programmes and livelihood empowerment opportunities to be rolled out across the state.
The Bakori Centre for Adult Education, located at Nadabo Primary School, is one of the newly established centres created just seven months ago under the leadership of Hajiya Bilkisu Muhammad Kaikai, Executive Secretary of the Agency for Mass Education. The initiative is part of Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda’s vision to expand access to adult education, especially for disadvantaged groups and out-of-school children.
“This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to lifelong learning, vocational skills acquisition, and inclusive education, ensuring no group is left behind in the state’s human capital development,” the Agency noted.
The data collection exercise is expected to continue in other LGAs over the coming weeks.
