According to the management of the University, the Post-UTME portal reopening is targeted at ensuring inclusiveness and fairness in the admission process. The institution emphasized that candidates seeking admission into its various programmes must complete both the online and physical screening exercises before the deadline of Monday, 13th October, 2025. This move demonstrates the University’s commitment to transparency and due process in its admissions.
The management further reiterated that the two-week reopening window will be strictly adhered to, and no further extensions will be granted. Candidates are therefore urged to act swiftly to avoid missing out on this final opportunity. It was also stressed that failure to participate in either the online or physical screening automatically disqualifies a candidate from consideration for admission into any programme in the institution.
To ensure clarity, the University outlined the admission screening process in detail. First, all applicants are required to log into the Gombe State University admission portal to complete the online screening form by providing accurate personal details, academic qualifications, and uploading necessary documents. Next, candidates must attend the physical screening exercise at the University campus, where original credentials will be verified. This two-step screening approach is designed to ensure authenticity and prevent cases of falsified academic records.
The University management also warned against late applications or reliance on third-party agents to process admission applications. It urged candidates to strictly use the official admission portal to avoid exploitation or misinformation. GSU’s ICT Directorate has assured prospective students of smooth technical operations during the reopened application window, with helpdesk support available for candidates encountering challenges.
In addition, Gombe State University called on parents, guardians, and secondary school principals to sensitise candidates about the importance of adhering to all instructions. The University stressed that discipline and compliance with admission guidelines remain key determinants of success in gaining entry into the institution. Authorities also advised candidates to prepare for the screening with all relevant credentials, including JAMB result slips, O’Level results, birth certificates, and recent passport photographs.
This reopening of the Post-UTME portal is particularly significant as it reflects GSU’s recognition of the challenges faced by students, including financial and technical difficulties, which may have hindered earlier completion of the process. By extending the deadline, the University demonstrates its resolve to ensure equal access to higher education opportunities for all qualified applicants, in line with national education objectives.
Finally, the University reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence and providing a conducive learning environment for new intakes. Candidates who successfully complete the screening exercise will be shortlisted for admission into their chosen programmes, based on merit and availability of spaces. Gombe State University encouraged all prospective students to seize this opportunity and begin their academic journey at one of Nigeria’s reputable public universities.
