The Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, has expelled 34 students over their involvement in various forms of examination misconduct.
In addition, 13 other students were rusticated for one academic session, while several others received official warning letters for violating examination regulations.
The disciplinary actions were announced in a statement issued by Abdullahi Datti, Head of Information, Publications and Public Relations Unit of the university, and made available on Friday.
According to the statement, the sanctions followed the approval of the report submitted by the Examinations Regulations and Irregularities Committee at the university’s 123rd Senate meeting held on October 9, 2025.
“The report includes recommendations for different kinds of punishments for students who were found to have engaged in examination malpractice,” the statement read.
In a related development, the university announced the establishment of a Centre for Equipment Maintenance to improve the upkeep and functionality of academic and research facilities across its faculties.
The newly created centre will oversee preventive maintenance schedules, repair faulty equipment, and conduct regular training for staff and students on the proper use and care of laboratory and technical tools.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Musa Yakasai, has approved the appointment of Dr. Murtala Dambatta from the Department of Mechanical Engineering as the pioneer Director of the centre.
