The management of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has issued a warning to students, staff, and the general public to disregard a fake academic calendar currently circulating on social media.
The falsified document, which bears the heading “Academic Calendar for the 2025/2026 Academic Session” and appears to be signed by the Director of Academic Planning, has a large red “X” mark drawn across it, an indication that it has been identified and dismissed as fake by the University’s information team.
In an official statement, the University cautioned against spreading or relying on unverified information not released through its official communication channels.
“Please disregard any academic calendar or misleading information on resumption being circulated on social media that is not released officially by the University or uploaded on its website and social media platforms,” the statement read.
The University reiterated that only announcements made via its verified website and social media handles should be considered authentic.
It further advised students and the public to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of any academic updates before sharing them online, using the hashtag #StopFakeNews to promote accurate information.
The management assured that details regarding the official 2025/2026 academic calendar and resumption date will be communicated in due course through approved channels.
