Athletes from Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) and the Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB) delivered outstanding performances in the Rowing Ergometer events at the 27th Nigerian Universities Games Association (NUGA) Games, held in Jos between November 13 and 14, 2025.
The competitions, supervised by Technical Chairman Fubara Owonaro, featured intense contests across various weight categories and distances.
ESUT’s Flora Edeh emerged as one of the top performers of the regatta, winning two gold medals. She topped the Female Heavyweight 1000m with a time of 4:03.3 and also secured first place in the Female Heavyweight 500m in 1:51.5.
Her teammate, Ikechukwu Victor, added to ESUT’s medal haul by clinching gold in the Male Heavyweight 1000m event with a time of 3:20.0.
NAUB recorded strong finishes led by Kasham Katharine, who won gold in the Female Lightweight 500m. The institution also earned three silver medals and one bronze across the heavyweight and lightweight divisions.
Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) also made notable strides, with Sani Umar securing gold in the Male Lightweight 1000m. The university picked up three additional silver medals in closely contested races.

The University of Jos (JOSTUM) finished with several podium places, including a gold medal from Tyonkaa Eben Rer in the Male Lightweight 2000m. The team also earned multiple silver and bronze medals through athletes such as Jennifer Asoo and Owole Alice.
