The Muyideen Okunlola Kayode (MOK) Foundation on Wednesday distributed free 2026 WAEC scholarship forms to students across 17 secondary schools in Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State, reinforcing its commitment to educational support and youth development.

The distribution ceremony, held at the Oyeleke Hall of Offa Grammar School, was led by the Foundation’s Director, Mr. Saheed Lawal, alongside the Director of Media, Mr. Nurudeen Ojo Mohammed, and the Coordinator of Empowerment, Mr. Ademola Rauf Yusuf (Demorich). Principals of the beneficiary schools received the forms on behalf of their students.

The benefiting schools include Offa Grammar School, Okin High School, Ansar-ud-Deen College Offa, Anglican Comprehensive College, Olalomi Comprehensive College, Government Secondary School, St. Claire’s Girls School, Government Day Secondary School, Nawar-Ud-Deen Grammar School (Olokunse Area), Nawar-Ud-Deen Grammar School (Alheri Sawmill Area), Iyeru Grammar School, Tawakalitu Grammar School, Ansar-ul-Islam Secondary School, St. Mark Secondary School, Offa Community Secondary School, Offa Baptist Secondary School and Moremi High School.

Stakeholders Commend Initiative

Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Offa branch, Mr. Tajudeen Babalola Saliu, lamented the increasing rate of absenteeism driven by parents’ inability to pay levies as low as ₦500.

“I have a very brilliant student who has been absent for two weeks because her parents couldn’t afford third-term levies. This gesture by the MOK Foundation is timely, and we appeal to the Foundation to consider Offa NUT in its future programmes,” he said.

Also speaking, Chairman of the All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPS), Offa chapter, Mr. Oyeleke Joseph Babalola, commended the Foundation for its sustained investment in human capital development.

“Offa has no other major industry apart from education. The MOK Foundation is helping to secure the future of children who will positively impact society,” he said, offering prayers for the Foundation’s founder, Qs. Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode.

The Principal of Ansar-ud-Deen College Offa, Mrs. Nafisat Olabisi Ayantola, said the support provides relief for parents and motivation for students preparing for their final examinations.

Foundation Reaffirms Commitment

The Director of Media, Mr. Nurudeen Ojo Mohammed, said the Foundation continues to invest in education, healthcare, security, empowerment, sports and youth development. He noted that the 2026 WAEC Scholarship initiative is designed to ensure that no child’s education stalls because of financial constraints.

Speaking on behalf of the founder, Mr. Saheed Lawal said the Foundation remains committed to reaching vulnerable children and supporting their academic journeys.

“The mission is to reach out to the lowest of the low, the most deserving members of society. Every child deserves access to quality education and the opportunity to write WAEC without fear of financial barriers,” he said.

Boost for Students Ahead of 2026 Exams

The programme ended with principals expressing gratitude as they departed with the scholarship forms. The intervention further positions the MOK Foundation as one of Kwara State’s leading grassroots educational-support organisations.
