The Katsina State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has commenced the verification and documentation of newly recruited non-academic staff for three Special Model Secondary Schools in the state, as part of preparations for the start of academic activities.
The exercise, conducted by Hallmark Consultancy, took place on Saturday at Radda Model Secondary School in Charanchi Local Government Area.
Speaking during the exercise, the consultant, Alhaji Sagir Ibrahim, said the verification covers newly recruited non-academic staff designated for the Special Model Secondary Schools located in Radda, Dumurkur, and Jikamshi. He explained that the process is aimed at ensuring proper documentation, transparency, and effective deployment of personnel in line with established standards.
Alhaji Ibrahim added that all official and administrative activities of the three schools have been temporarily centralised at Radda Model Secondary School. According to him, this arrangement will remain in place pending the completion of infrastructural development and full operational readiness of the schools in Dumurkur and Jikamshi.
He noted that the temporary centralisation is intended to enhance coordination, ensure seamless administrative management, and prevent delays in the implementation of educational programmes across the three institutions.
The consultant described the verification exercise as a critical preparatory step ahead of the commencement of academic activities, stressing that the engagement of qualified and duly verified non-academic staff is essential to the smooth running of the schools.
The exercise was conducted in an orderly manner and witnessed the participation of relevant stakeholders alongside the newly recruited non-academic staff.
The Special Model Secondary Schools are part of the Katsina State Government’s efforts to strengthen secondary education through improved staffing, administration, and infrastructure.
