The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially activated the 2026 change of institution and course process for candidates seeking to modify their admission preferences following the release of admission policy guidelines for the new academic session.
In a notice issued by the Board’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, candidates were advised to visit only JAMB-approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres to process any change of institution or programme.
The development comes days after the 2026 JAMB Policy Meeting on Admissions held in Abuja, where institutions announced their admission benchmarks and admission procedures for the new exercise.
According to JAMB, candidates who wish to switch institutions, change courses, or make other admission-related adjustments are expected to complete the process through accredited CBT centres to ensure proper documentation and validation on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
The Board also announced that printing of the original 2026 UTME result slips will officially commence on Monday, May 18, 2026.
The original result slip, which contains candidates’ passport photographs and other security features, is one of the required documents for post-UTME screening, admission processing, scholarship applications, and verification exercises in many tertiary institutions.
Candidates are therefore advised to monitor updates from their preferred institutions while ensuring all admission-related modifications are carried out through authorised channels to avoid errors or fraudulent activities.
