The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has announced an extension of the registration deadline for the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination into technical colleges across the country.
According to the Board, registration will now close on May 31, while the examination earlier scheduled to hold on June 6 has been postponed to June 13, 2026.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by NABTEB, noting that the approval for the extension was granted by the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Board, Dr. Aminu Mohammed.
The statement explained that the decision was communicated through an internal memorandum signed by the Director of Examinations Administration, Chigoziem Metu.
NABTEB said the adjustment became necessary following appeals from prospective candidates who requested additional time to complete their registration.
The Board urged intending candidates to take advantage of the extension period to finalize all necessary registration procedures before the new deadline.
NABTEB also encouraged students interested in technical and vocational education to participate in the examination, describing technical colleges as important pathways for developing entrepreneurial and practical skills.
The National Common Entrance Examination is conducted annually for admission into technical colleges nationwide.
