The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has extended the deadline for applications for Direct Entry admission into its undergraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session by one week.
The new deadline is Tuesday, September 29, 2026, giving prospective Direct Entry candidates an additional seven days to complete their applications through the university’s admission portal.
UNILAG had initially scheduled the online registration to close on Tuesday, September 22, after opening the application window on September 9.
The university announced the extension in a notice issued by its Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mrs V. Abosede Wickliffe.
The institution advised candidates who have yet to complete their applications to use the additional period to submit their forms and required documents.
UNILAG also cautioned that the extension would be the final opportunity for prospective candidates, indicating that no further extension would be granted after September 29.
The Direct Entry application is open to candidates who selected the University of Lagos as their first choice in the 2026/2027 Direct Entry exercise conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Applicants are required to have five relevant O’Level credit passes at one sitting, including English Language and Mathematics, alongside the appropriate qualifications for Direct Entry admission.
The university’s application procedure requires candidates to log on to the UNILAG application portal, select the undergraduate application option and use their JAMB Direct Entry registration number to begin the process.
Candidates are also expected to upload relevant qualifications and results, which may include first-degree, HND, OND, NCE, JUPEB, Cambridge A-Level and other recognised credentials listed by the university.
The Direct Entry application fee is N3,500.
UNILAG further stated that candidates who fail to complete the online registration would not be considered for admission into the university for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Prospective applicants are therefore expected to complete their submissions before the revised September 29 deadline and retain their application slips for future reference.
