The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator , has declared that government alone cannot shoulder the financial and infrastructural burden of educating Nigeria’s growing population, stressing the urgent need for stronger collaboration among stakeholders in the education sector.
The governor made this assertion while speaking at the inauguration of a newly developed educational facility established by the Christian Academy Management in Ungwan Bulus, Sabon Tasha area of Kaduna State.
Represented at the event by the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the State, Dr. James Kanyip, Governor Uba Sani said meaningful progress in education can only be achieved through collective responsibility involving government, communities, faith-based organisations, and private sector partners.
“The task of educating our children cannot be left to government alone,” the governor said. “Meaningful progress requires collaboration among government, communities, faith-based organisations and private institutions. This is why we greatly value initiatives such as this one.”
He emphasised that education remains one of the strongest tools for national development, describing investment in young people as a long-term strategy for peace, stability, and economic prosperity.
According to him, every effort directed at expanding access to education contributes directly to building stronger communities and a more productive society.
“Every classroom built creates opportunities for learning. Every child educated strengthens our communities. Every investment in education contributes to a more prosperous future for our state and nation,” he stated.
Governor Sani further explained that his administration places education at the centre of its development agenda, noting that sustainable growth cannot be achieved without an educated and empowered population.
He said since assuming office, his government has implemented several policies aimed at improving educational infrastructure, expanding access to learning opportunities, and enhancing the quality of education across all levels in the state.
“Our goal is clear: to make education accessible, affordable and equitable for every child,” he said. “This vision continues to guide government interventions across the sector.”
The governor also described the newly inaugurated facility as more than just a physical structure, saying it represents hope, transformation, and opportunity for the host community and beyond.
He noted that such institutions play a critical role in shaping young minds, instilling discipline, and preparing students for leadership roles in society.
“The significance of this facility extends beyond this community. It will serve as a centre for learning, character formation and leadership development,” he added.
Governor Sani commended the Christian Academy Management for its commitment to educational development, describing the investment as a demonstration of civic responsibility and understanding of human capital development.
He further urged other private and faith-based organisations to emulate similar initiatives, stressing that government partnerships with non-state actors remain crucial to addressing the challenges facing the education sector.
The event ended with renewed calls for sustained partnerships between government and private education providers as a means of strengthening access, quality, and inclusiveness in the education system.
