The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, HRM, Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, alongside the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, paid a condolence visit to the 4th Substantive Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun, following the passing of his wife.
The visit, undertaken on behalf of the entire University Community, was aimed at conveying the institution’s heartfelt sympathies and unwavering support to Prof. Balogun and his family during this difficult period of grief and mourning.
Describing the late Mrs. Balogun’s death as a painful loss, the university delegation offered prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul and asked God to grant the bereaved family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The delegation reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to standing with Prof. Balogun, acknowledging his invaluable contributions to the growth and development of the university during his tenure as Vice-Chancellor.
Also present during the condolence visit were the University’s Bursar, Mr. Olukayode Osinuga, and the former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Kola Adebayo, who joined in expressing their condolences and support to the former Vice-Chancellor.
The visit underscored the enduring bonds of fellowship within the university community and reflected the institution’s tradition of extending care and compassion to its members in moments of sorrow.
