The Lagos State Government has postponed the 2026 Placement Test for admission into its public secondary schools, citing a clash with the state’s monthly environmental sanitation exercise.
The examination, initially scheduled for Saturday, July 25, will now hold on Tuesday, July 28, according to the Lagos State Examinations Board (LSEB).
Registrar of the Board, Adebayo Orunsolu, said the decision was taken after it became apparent that the original date coincided with the monthly sanitation exercise, during which movement is restricted across the state.
He explained that the restriction would have affected candidates, parents, guardians and examination officials travelling to various examination centres, making it necessary to adjust the timetable.
“The rescheduling is to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination and avoid the challenges that would have arisen from the movement restrictions during the environmental sanitation exercise,” he said.
Orunsolu urged parents, guardians, school administrators and candidates to take note of the new date and make the necessary preparations.
He assured stakeholders that adequate arrangements had been made to guarantee a seamless, transparent and hitch-free conduct of the placement test.
The Board also apologised for any inconvenience caused by the change and appreciated residents for their understanding and continued support.
The Lagos State Examinations Board said it remains committed to maintaining high standards in the conduct of public examinations across the state.
