The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to expanding access to quality education and strengthening digital learning infrastructure as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda, with the implementation of key education projects across Kano State.
Leading the inspection and commissioning of the projects, the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, said the initiatives reflect the Federal Government’s determination to ensure that every Nigerian child has access to quality education and the skills needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving world.
During a visit to the Bilingual School in Ungogo, Dr. Alausa disclosed that the project has reached over 90 per cent completion and is on course to admit its first set of learners in September 2026. He directed that the recruitment process for teachers should commence immediately to ensure the school is fully prepared for academic activities.
The minister noted that the school forms part of broader efforts under the Nigeria Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI), through which more than one million out-of-school children have been returned to classrooms nationwide.
According to him, the government remains focused not only on increasing school enrolment but also on ensuring that children remain in school and receive quality education.
As part of the visit, Dr. Alausa also commissioned an upgraded digital e-library at the Federal Government College, Kano. The facility is designed to improve access to digital learning resources and enhance students’ technological skills in line with global education standards.
He also visited other education projects, including Tofa and Tarda Smart School, where he emphasised the importance of innovation, collaboration and strategic investments in improving teaching and learning outcomes.
The minister said the ongoing reforms are aimed at building a more inclusive and technology-driven education system capable of producing a skilled workforce that supports Nigeria’s long-term economic development.
He added that the projects align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of developing human capital and positioning education as a key driver of a knowledge-based economy under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
