As universities across Nigeria intensify preparations for the 2026/2027 academic session, the management of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASFUED), Ijagun, Ogun State, has expressed confidence in its readiness to receive both returning and newly admitted students following the completion of major infrastructure upgrades across the campus.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Oladipo, gave the assurance after leading members of the university’s management team on an inspection of recently renovated academic buildings executed under the 2025 Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) Project Maintenance Intervention.
The inspection, according to the university, was not merely ceremonial but formed part of a quality assurance exercise to verify that the completed projects met the institution’s specifications before they are fully utilised during the new academic year.
Walking through the renovated facilities, the Vice-Chancellor examined the standard of workmanship, assessed the level of completion and interacted with officials overseeing the projects. He explained that the exercise reflected the administration’s determination to ensure that investments in physical infrastructure directly improve teaching, learning and research activities.
Prof. Oladipo noted that modern educational institutions require learning spaces capable of supporting contemporary teaching methods, technological innovation and collaborative research. He stressed that well-maintained academic facilities remain an essential ingredient in creating an environment where students and lecturers can perform at their best.
According to him, the newly upgraded buildings represent another step in the university’s broader development agenda, which seeks to position TASFUED as a leading institution for teacher education through continuous improvement in infrastructure, academic delivery and research capacity.
Beyond enhancing the appearance of the campus, the renovations are expected to provide more comfortable lecture spaces and a better working environment for academic and non-academic staff. University management believes that such improvements will contribute positively to students’ overall learning experience and strengthen the institution’s ability to deliver quality education.
Looking ahead to the commencement of the 2026/2027 session, the Vice-Chancellor assured students that every aspect of the university’s academic preparations had been carefully coordinated. He stated that lecturers, administrative units and support services were fully prepared to begin another academic year focused on academic excellence, innovation, leadership development and student success.
He also encouraged prospective candidates seeking university admission to consider TASFUED, describing the institution as one committed to producing graduates equipped with the knowledge, professional competence and ethical values required to succeed in an increasingly competitive global environment.
The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed that maintenance would remain a permanent feature of the university’s development strategy, noting that preserving existing facilities is as important as constructing new ones. He added that the management would continue to monitor ongoing projects while pursuing additional initiatives capable of improving academic delivery across the institution.
Prof. Oladipo expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for their continued investment in higher education infrastructure, describing the intervention as instrumental to the university’s growth. He observed that sustained funding of capital projects enables institutions to modernise their campuses and create conditions that support effective teaching, innovative research and meaningful community service.
Addressing parents and guardians, he assured them that TASFUED remains committed to providing a secure, student-friendly and academically stimulating environment where learners can develop intellectually and personally throughout their university education.
