Applications have officially opened for the Zacch Adedeji Taxation and Fiscal Policy Fellowship, a capacity-building initiative designed to equip young Nigerians with practical knowledge, technical expertise and policy exposure in taxation, fiscal policy and public finance.
The fellowship aims to develop a new generation of tax and fiscal policy professionals through expert-led training, structured mentorship and hands-on policy engagement. It is open to Nigerians aged between 18 and 40 who are interested in pursuing careers in taxation, public finance, economic governance and related fields.
According to information published by the Federal Character Commission (FCC) on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, interested applicants are required to complete and submit their applications through the fellowship’s designated online portal on or before August 15, 2026.
The organisers said the programme is designed to provide participants with intensive professional training facilitated by experienced experts in taxation and fiscal policy. Successful applicants will also benefit from mentorship opportunities, field exposure and practical policy engagements intended to strengthen their understanding of Nigeria’s tax administration and fiscal management systems.
To be eligible, applicants must be Nigerian citizens between the ages of 18 and 40 and demonstrate a genuine interest in taxation, fiscal policy or public finance. They are also expected to provide accurate, current and verifiable personal information during the application process, submit a valid email address for official communication, and clearly articulate their vision, relevant experience and innovative ideas in the short-answer sections of the application.
The organisers noted that applicants may edit their submissions before the application deadline. However, they warned that incomplete applications or entries submitted after August 15, 2026, will not be considered for the fellowship.
Prospective applicants have also been advised to complete and submit their applications well ahead of the deadline to avoid technical challenges that may arise from last-minute submissions.
The Zacch Adedeji Taxation and Fiscal Policy Fellowship is expected to provide participants with practical insights into Nigeria’s taxation and fiscal policy landscape while preparing them for leadership roles in public finance, tax administration and economic policy development.
