Rivers State University (RSU) has released the departmental cut-off marks for admission into its undergraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The cut-off marks vary across programmes, with Law recording the highest merit score at 75, followed by Medicine and Surgery at 71 and Nursing Sciences at 66.
Other notable merit cut-off marks include Computer Engineering at 59, Accounting at 58, French at 58, Religious Studies at 57, Computer Science and Journalism and Media Studies at 57 and 56 respectively.
Within the College of Medical Sciences, the merit cut-off marks are 71 for Medicine and Surgery, 66 for Nursing Sciences, 61 for Radiography, 56 for Physiotherapy, 52 for Public Health Sciences, 50 for Human Anatomy and 47 for Human Physiology.
In the Faculty of Engineering, the listed merit cut-off marks include 59 for Computer Engineering, 56 for Mechanical Engineering, 54 each for Civil and Petroleum Engineering, 53 for Electrical Engineering and 52 for Marine Engineering.
For Environmental Sciences, Architecture has a merit cut-off mark of 54, while Urban and Regional Planning is 49, Environmental Management 43, Quantity Surveying 40 and Surveying and Geomatics 38.
In the Sciences, Computer Science has a merit cut-off mark of 57, followed by Physics at 47, Plant Science and Biotechnology at 47, Biochemistry and Chemistry at 44 each, Microbiology at 43, Animal and Environmental Biology at 41, Mathematics at 39, Marine Science at 38 and Geology at 37.
The Faculty of Humanities has merit cut-off marks ranging from 38 for English and Literature in English to 58 for French. Religious Studies has a cut-off mark of 57, while Philosophy, History and Theatre Arts have 46, 42 and 39 respectively.
In the Social Sciences, Political Science has a merit cut-off mark of 47, Economics 41, while Psychology and Sociology have 38 each.
The university also listed separate catchment-area and pre-degree cut-off marks for some programmes.
