Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has extended its 2026/2027 Post-UTME screening exercise by two weeks, giving prospective students additional time to complete their applications and resolve issues that may have prevented them from participating within the original deadline.
The extension, approved by the university management, moves the closing date from Wednesday, September 30, 2026, to Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
Under the revised schedule, the additional screening period commenced on Thursday, October 1, providing affected candidates with a further 14 days to complete outstanding aspects of the admission process.
The university said the decision was taken to accommodate prospective candidates who encountered difficulties while attempting to complete their screening applications before the initial deadline.
Among the challenges identified by the university are issues relating to change of course or institution, NECO token problems and other circumstances that may have prevented eligible candidates from completing their applications or screening requirements on time.
The extension therefore provides candidates who had started the admission process but were unable to complete it with another opportunity to regularise their applications.
For prospective students seeking admission into NSUK for the 2026/2027 academic session, the revised deadline means that applications and other outstanding screening requirements must now be concluded on or before October 14.
The university management has consequently urged affected candidates and their parents or guardians not to wait until the final day before addressing unresolved issues.
Candidates who experienced difficulties with their change of course or institution, NECO tokens or other aspects of the screening process have been advised to use the extension period to resolve such challenges and complete the necessary procedures.
The additional window could be particularly important for candidates whose admission prospects depend on completing the university’s screening requirements within the approved period.
NSUK also advised candidates to ensure that all information and documentation required for the screening exercise are properly completed before the new deadline.
The extension does not represent a new screening exercise but an additional period for candidates who fall within the university’s existing 2026/2027 admission process.
The university’s decision reflects the practical challenges that can arise during the transition from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board admission process to individual institutional screening, particularly where candidates are required to make changes to their preferred course or institution.
Candidates and their sponsors are therefore expected to take advantage of the additional time rather than assume that another extension will be granted after October 14.
The notice was signed by Ramatu A. Liman, Esq., Senior Deputy Registrar, Academic Affairs, on behalf of the Registrar.
With the new deadline now fixed for October 14, prospective students seeking admission to NSUK are expected to complete all outstanding requirements before the expiration of the extended screening period.
