The Polytechnic, Ibadan has commenced its 2026/2027 academic session, with first-semester lectures underway and registration deadlines announced for fresh and returning students.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Registrar, Board of Studies, Mrs Eyitayo O.F., on behalf of the Registrar, Dr Taiwo Olajide, the institution said lectures began on Monday, October 5, for all categories of students.
According to the statement, fresh students were scheduled to resume on September 4, while returning students were expected back on September 11.
Online registration for fresh students will close on Monday, October 12, while returning students have until Monday, October 19, 2026, to complete their registration.
Returning students who miss the deadline will be allowed to register with a late-registration penalty between Tuesday, October 20, and Monday, October 26.
Management also scheduled a compulsory two-day orientation programme for fresh students on October 19 and 20.
First-semester lectures will continue until Saturday, January 23, 2027, followed by a one-week revision period from Monday, January 25, to Saturday, January 30.
First-semester examinations are scheduled to begin on Monday, February 1, and end on Saturday, February 20, 2027.
Marking, grading and consideration of results will take place between Monday, February 22, and Friday, March 19, with the first semester ending on March 20, 2027.
The second semester is scheduled to commence on Monday, April 5, while the 2026/2027 academic session will conclude on Saturday, August 21, 2027.
