Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has announced that newly admitted students will arrive on campus on Sunday, November 1, 2026, for the commencement of the 2026/2027 academic session.

The university said online registration for fresh students would begin on Monday, November 2, while their orientation programme would hold from November 2 to 6.

In a statement issued by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olarewaju, OAU said the orientation would introduce the new students to its academic environment, rules, regulations, traditions and expectations.

The programme is also intended to help the students adjust to university life and understand their academic and social responsibilities.

The institution said Information and Communication Technology training for the newly admitted students would take place from Monday, November 9, to Friday, November 13.

Returning undergraduate students are expected to resume on Sunday, November 15, while lectures for the new academic session will commence on Monday, November 16.

The university urged fresh and returning students to observe the announced dates and comply with the arrangements for the commencement of academic activities.

It also advised parents and guardians to take note of the schedule and support their children and wards as they prepare for resumption.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire, reaffirmed the management’s commitment to providing an enabling environment for teaching, learning, research and character development.
