TASUED Vice Chancellor Appeals to Ogun Government for Increased Subvention Amid Funding Challenges and Achievements Highlighted at 16th Convocation
The Vice Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education, Professor Oluwole Sikiru Banjo, has appealed to the Ogun State government to increase the university’s subvention due to its current funding challenges. Speaking at the 16th convocation ceremonies, Banjo highlighted the need for additional funding to improve facilities, research equipment, and technology for quality education.
He also encouraged other stakeholders, such as alumni, private individuals, corporate organizations, and parents, to support the university in any way they can. Banjo listed various achievements during his tenure, including the introduction of new academic programs and infrastructure development.
The Pro-Chancellor, Professor Rahamon Bello, praised the state government for its financial support but emphasized the need for an increase in the allocated subvention to meet the university’s growing needs. A total of 32 graduands received first-class honors at the convocation, with Abdulateef Adedamola Adedeji emerging as the overall best-graduating student with a CGPA of 4.91.
