The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the body responsible for conducting the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), has released the dates and detailed guidelines for the 2025 tertiary institutions entrance examination.
The UTME, designed for candidates seeking admission into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education, will follow a structured timeline:
Registration Period: Wednesday, January 15, to Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
Mock Examination Date: Friday, March 7, 2025 (mock slip reprinting begins Thursday, April 10, 2025).
UTME Examination Dates: Friday, April 18, to Monday, April 28, 2025.
Results Release: Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
JAMB highlighted the following prerequisites for successful registration:
National Identification Number (NIN):
Candidates must possess an 11-digit NIN from any National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) center or app.
JAMB Profile Code. Generate the profile code by texting your NIN to 55019 or 66019.
Valid Contact Information. A functional phone number and email address are required for updates and registration access.
Educational Qualifications. Candidates must have O’level (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or GCE) or A’level results. Applicants with awaiting results can apply but must upload the final results before admission.
ePIN Purchase. The ePIN costs ₦3,500, available from authorized banks, online platforms, or via USSD codes. Additional fees include ₦700 for registration, ₦1,500 for the main exam, and an optional ₦1,500 for the mock UTME.
Personal Details. Provide essential information such as name, date of birth, state of origin, local government, a passport photograph, and complete biometric verification.
The registration process costs approximately ₦5,200 for the main examination and ₦6,700 for candidates opting for the mock UTME.
Steps to Register include:
Visit JAMB’s portal to create a profile using your NIN, email, and phone number.
Verify your profile via SMS and email.
Purchase your ePIN from authorized outlets.
Visit a JAMB-approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) center with all required documents, including your ePIN and O’level results.
Complete the registration form, select your examination date and center, and complete biometric verification.
Obtain a registration slip with your examination schedule and a CD containing the syllabus and e-brochure.
