The Federal Ministry of Education Nigeria has received multiple recognitions for its performance in service delivery, accountability, and institutional efficiency at the SERVICOM Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) Awards.
The Ministry was honoured with a Special Recognition Award by the SERVICOM Office under the #SERVICOMWORKSHERE initiative, in recognition of its efforts to improve the quality of services delivered to citizens.
It also emerged as the second-best performing Ministerial SERVICOM Unit (MSU) and received commendation for maintaining high standards across its operations. In addition, the Ministry secured five awards in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), highlighting its use of digital tools to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
The awards were presented to the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, during the Ministry’s second management meeting for the first quarter of 2026. The presentation was led by the Director of ICT, Mrs. Zainab Abubakar, alongside Mr. Yiman Innocent of the Reforms Coordination and Service Improvement Department.
Speaking at the meeting, the Permanent Secretary emphasised the need for strict adherence to the Ministry’s mandate, noting that it must continue to set the standard for other Ministries, Departments, and Agencies within the Federal Civil Service.
He urged staff to maintain professionalism and pay close attention to detail in documentation, communication, and administrative processes, stressing the importance of accuracy and proper coordination in official duties.
Mr. Enitan also called for improved planning and timely response in official engagements, warning that lapses in execution could affect the Ministry’s image and overall efficiency. He encouraged departments to be proactive in their responsibilities to minimise avoidable errors.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening internal systems, improving service delivery, and sustaining high performance standards in line with its role in advancing Nigeria’s education sector.
