Meet Covenant Odedele, the 400-level Medicine and Surgery student who’s got everyone talking!
Auspicious, as he’s fondly called, is no stranger to leadership. His impressive resume boasts of various leadership positions, including Curation Lead at TEDxUI, Public Relations Officer of the Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan, and member of the University of Ibadan Medical Students Association Congress. But what sets him apart is his passion for driving positive change and his unwavering commitment to students’ welfare.
“Auspicious is a leader like no other,” says a student who’s worked with him. “He’s got a vision for a better University of Ibadan, and he’s not afraid to roll up his sleeves to make it happen.”
But Auspicious’s credentials go beyond just leadership positions. He’s a proven problem-solver who’s raised an impressive #238,000 for 6 indigent University of Ibadan students in 2024. He’s also convened various workshops and sessions, including the Career and Employability Workshop with Jobberman Nigeria, University of Ibadan, which has equipped him with the skills to drive positive change.

As Auspicious vies for the office of President, University of Ibadan Students’ Union, he’s clear about his goal: to uphold the truth that students’ leadership is about pursuing the welfare of students, and to make this the standard parameter for measuring performance and achievements.
